Abstract

To meet the benchmark problem presented by E-COSM 2021, an energy management strategy (EMS) is proposed for connected hybrid electrical vehicles (HEVs) based on preceding vehicle speed prediction, host vehicle speed planning and dynamic programing (DP) with PI correction. In detail, a conditional linear Gauss (CLG) model for estimating the future speed of the preceding vehicle is established and trained by utilizing historical data. Then, based on the predicted information of the preceding vehicle and traffic light status, the speed curve of the host vehicle that can ensure vehicle following safety and comply with traffic rules simultaneously is planned. Next, the offline optimization result of DP is used as the terminal traction main term of real-time power allocation, and equipped with real-time PI correction item according to the actual operation of the engine. Finally, the effectiveness of the control strategy is verified by the simulation system of HEVs in the interconnected environment established by E-COSM on the platform of MATLAB/Simulink.
