Abstract

Non-rigid point set registration technology is one of the main research directions in computer vision and pattern recognition. The purpose of this technology is to obtain the point-to-point correspondence between each feature point of two or more point sets that have nonlinear deformation, and to solve the spatial transformation relationship between two point sets according to the point-to-point correspondence. Non-rigid point set registration technology is mainly used in pattern recognition, 3D modeling and multi-modal image fusion. Non-rigid point set registration technology is characterized by solving correspondences and spatial transformation between nonlinear deformation point sets, so that the technology should have a wider range of application scenarios. This discussion paper aims to discuss the advantages and characteristics of various types of current non-rigid point set registration algorithms, and discuss the application potential and scenarios of point set registration, which utilized in the field of intelligent vehicle.
