Abstract

This paper presents a high school STEM curriculum that integrates theoretical mathematics with biological and biomedical applications to make abstract concepts more accessible and engaging for students. First we outline the course objectives and detailed unit structure, highlighting biological and biomedical examples that illustrate fundamental mathematical and engineering principles. After that, we focus on practical applications and research areas where physiological control systems are applied in biomedical engineering, linking the course content to real-world innovations. Additionally, we introduce our research center and its specialized research groups, showcasing ongoing projects that connect control theory, biomedical engineering, and healthcare applications. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary education in preparing students for their careers.
