Abstract

This article proposes a slight variation in Dynamic Programming algorithm that allows to decouple inputs sampling time from the problem time step. This algorithm variation is applied to a model of parallel hybrid electric vehicles equipped with a gearbox. The gearbox shifting control has to be less recurrent than the power split control to ensure vehicle drivability. It is shown that it is possible to improve the drivability by 60% while having a fuel overconsumption lower than or equal to 3%. Moreover, the proposed algorithm can reduce the computation time by 19% compared to the classical one.
